Dana Abyat and filly foal Shaikha Bint Krayaan, 2007
AHSB XVIII
(Crabbet) Grey Mare born 28 April 1997. 15 hands 2"
By Harkem (Haroun/Sun Dance) out of Lady Mirabelle (Autumn Royal/Richelle)
Dana Abyat came to us as a foal at foot when her mother (Lady Mirabelle) was given to me on loan. The foal was already sold and once we had weaned her in late summer she was to be sent to her new owners in Scotland. I felt this was a pity as she was such a lovely foal I really wanted to buy her myself. As luck would have it the deal fell through and I was able to buy her. A good solid Crabbet Type, Dana Abyat is an excellent outcross to our Bahraini stallions proving how knowledgeable and wise Lady Ann Blunt was to include Bahraini blood in her breeding programme over a century ago. When you see Dana Abyat's foals by our Bahraini stallions they are very 'old style' Crabbet, solid, strong horses with lovely movement.
